Founded in 2020, Tutored by Teachers (TBT) is an online tutoring provider that focuses on academic support in the form of high dosage virtual intervention for math and literacy in small group or 1-on-1 settings. Co-founders Rahul Kalita and Shaan Akbar recognized the learning loss stemming from the pandemic were both material and long-lasting and wanted to provide a solution with a focus on Title 1 schools. TBT partners with schools to provide tutoring services that span in-school, after-school, summer school and virtual school (core instruction to all K-12 students who cannot attend in-person classrooms).
